There are no blood tests for diagnosing parkinsonism. The diagnosis of parkinsonism is set in the consulting room, based on a clinical review by a neurologist (listening to patient’s observations, and a thorough neurological examination). Also the progress of the disease in time and the response to the medication can help narrow the diagnosis. This way the diagnosis of parkinsonism works well in most of the people, but only brain examination after death gives absolute certainty about the diagnosis.
