Such surgeries are called “Deep Brian Stimulation”, where the neurosurgeon places an electrode in the brain. This electrode stimulates a small part of the brain, which partially suppresses the symptoms of parkinsonism. In general, an operation is considered if the medication can no longer provide the desired results.
