Encounter with Reinhold Jost, Minister of Justice of Saarland

Encounter with Reinhold Jost, Minister of Justice of Saarland

To improve research on Parkinson's disease, the Luxembourg Institute of Health is recruiting "control persons" (not suffering from Parkinson's disease), especially men above 40, to obtain clinical data and samples that will be compared to those of patients.

This study is on the rise and is now lucky to welcome volunteers from across the borders! Encounter with Reinold Jost, Minister of Justice of Saarland, 50 years old, control participant:

How did you hear about the Parkinson study?

I got to know about the study thanks to the association "Jung und Parkinson Saarland", of which I am the patron and that I support not only through my position as a Minister, but also personally. I am amazed by the engagement of this association and the energy and dedication of its members, and this really made me feel like getting personally involved.

What does the participation to this study mean for you?

It is important for me to be involved and I really enjoyed being part of this major and one of a kind study. I hope this will help to better understand the disease and eventually find ways to cure it.

Does such a study exists in Germany?

Not that I am aware of, at least not in Saarland.

I will meet my colleague, the Minister of Health and intend to discuss with him about how we could extend this project to the Greater Region and get the right people in touch in order to highlight Luxembourg’s expertise and fight the disease.

How did the visit go?

I felt very good and in good hands! The team is very professional and nice. We already planned to see each other again for the next visit!
