On Friday, 17th April 2015, the yearly conference organised by Association Parkinson Luxembourg on the occasion of World Parkinson’s Day took place at the Centre Culturel ‘An der Eech’ in Leudelange.
This event was dedicated to the official launch of the NCER-PD programme that is funded by the Fonds National de la Recherche (FNR). Prof. Dr. Rejko Krüger, Prof. Dr. Nico Diederich, Dr. Anna Chioti and Dr. Nikolai Goncharenko gave a joint presentation to introduce the patient cohort that will be built up as part of the programme to the interested public. The audience comprised mostly patients and their relatives and friends, but also researchers and people interested in the NCER-PD programme.
The event was moderated by Dr. Alexandre Bisdorff in conjunction with Mrs. Roseline Lentz, president of the Association Parkinson Luxembourg. Among other exhibitors, the LCSB was present with a booth, offering multilingual information on the cohort to be established, as well as examples of colour vision tests, dexterity tests and a smell test that are part of the clinical characterisation of Parkinson’s patients.
Over 45 visitors registered their willingness to participate in the clinical study either as patient or as healthy control person, demonstrating the high interest to contribute to research on Parkinson’s disease.
